Marco Lessner: Born in Berlin in 1983 and raised in Münsterland. From an early age he became interested in the world of photography, which soon became his passion.

2006 was the year he returned to Berlin, where he now lives and works as well as developing his career as a photographer, being influenced by the sights and sounds of a city that has a thousand faces.

His photographic knowledge was broadened and strengthened when Marco decided to take part in several courses organized by Photozentrum Berlin-Kreuzberg, an institute founded in 1976 by Michael Schmidt, which has a long tradition in photography and offers a wide range of training programs in the field of photography and is therefore recognized far beyond the boundaries of Berlin.

In Marco’s own words: “Photography allows me to capture the reality in front of me and to develop one or more stories with it”. For him, the click of the shutter gives the viewer the opportunity to be part of the scene captured by the camera.

Through his work, Marco is interested in urban social issues, with a focus on the queer world, and makes use of documentary narrative.

His photographs want to escape from being simple images and seek to generate debate, provoke, invite reflection, and expand personal horizons as well as those of the viewers.
